Return of the Rain

Typical. Just as I get back into gardening the rain returns. So much for our Indian Summer! Or are they meant to last just 8 days?!

Rabbit Topiary

This is how my rabbit topiary started:

This is how it ended up. I am very much looking forward to seeing it grow.

Just have to get a cat frame now so the cats don't get jealous.

Lots To Do

This should give a fairly good idea of where we are at the moment with our garden, from the bottom up! This is the patio, with salad bed, herb pots, rabbits and fruit trees.

This is the view from the patio up the garden. Doesn't it just look like it goes on forever?

This is the view from the top of the garden.

This is the greenhouse and shed at the top of the garden.

So. It's not really a very usable garden at the moment, but we are planning to tier it and have got some level markers in place using railway sleepers.
We managed to spend a fair bit of time in the garden yesterday, emptying the greenhouse and planting garlic. I did some pruning, and I was a little brutal, just hope they're all still alive. I also started my rabbit topiary and planted snowdrops.
The main thing we wanted to do yesterday was measure the garden and start planning so hopefully we can get lots done ready for BBQs next Summer.

Back to the Garden

It's been a while since we have blogged anything but plenty has gone on in the garden and with all of the gardening vouchers we had when we got married in June we have plenty to be getting on with. I know this is really the wrong time of year to be starting in the garden but I want to start planning for next year and as the weather is nice I am oing to start tomorrow.

I have got some spring flowering bulbs ready to plant and buxus plants for my Bunny Topiary frame. There are also a few plants that need pruning and sorting out so tomorrow I will get all my tools togethers, dust of my wellies and get planting! I also want to try and maintain some herbs in the house through the winter and have an orchid I'd like to try and bring back to life as I have had it for nearly 3 years! Photos to come tomorrow.
